Overview
This is yet another artificially limited Costco exclusive model. In this case, the R7900 is a R8000 with 256QAM disabled on the three stream 2.4GHz radio limiting its maximum theoretical speed to 450Mbps instead of 600Mbps. Also, the USB 2.0 port was removed for the R7900.
While not really represented well in the infobox, this is a tri-radio device - all radios (2x 5GHz [an+ac], 1x 2.4GHz [bgn]) used are BCM43602 (FullMAC) is supported in the mainline Linux kernel by brcmfmac

Flashing
NOTE: During configuration or flashing a device, the only things that should be hooked to the device is the computer and power. |
Flashing OpenWrt
Devices with Broadcom WiFi chipsets have limited OpenWrt supportability (due to limited FLOSS driver availability for Broadcom chips). Consider this when choosing a device to buy, or when deciding to flash OpenWrt on your device because it is listed as supported. See Broadcom WiFi for details. |
