Overview

TP-Link Deco X50-PoE v2.0 features two 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports that both support Power over Ethernet (PoE+, 802.3at) input, alongside an optional 12V DC power jack, allowing for flexible deployments without dedicated power outlets nearby. The power circuitry on the device is not designed for high availablity, which means it will not perform a dual-PoE handshake or provide hot-standby power redundancy between dual PoE connections or a DC adapter (EU Version: 12V/1.2A DC. US Version: 12V/1.5A DC). Although official manufacturer documentation specifies an 802.3at (PoE+) power requirement and says that 802.3af is NOT supported, European region models operate stably on standard 802.3af PoE without experiencing brownouts, typically drawing up to 12W under full load. If both ports are wired into a PoE switch, only one port is used for PoE and data, while the other port is only used for data. If 12V DC adapter is plugged in, neither port is used for PoE handshake. Power consumption via PoE is up to 18W for the US version and up to 14.4W for the EU version. The Deco X50-PoE can only receive power through its PoE port. It cannot supply PoE power to other devices.
